The Zamberlan 1012 Vioz Boot GT RR WL is our newest big-game hunting boot, improving upon the prior 967 Lhasa Boot GT RR. The 1012 Vioz Boot GT RR WL is a wide lasted boot that utilizes our all new Zamberlan Vibram Darwin sole package. The upper is slightly shorter than the 967 Lhasa Boot GT RR and has been redesigned for a more anatomical fit over the calf muscle, but counts on the same rugged construction as before.
The all-new Zamberlan Vibram Darwin outsole is an exclusive sole developed by Zamberlan that features a dual-density PU midsole (one lower-density layger for cusion and one higher-density for stability and shock absorption) originally developed in our very technical Alpine models. The outsole features excellent tread for superior grip, exaggerated downhill braking, a super grippy toe-off zone, lugs wide enough they can be easily cleaned with a stick or a finger, and a heel strike zone which ensures great traction throughout the stride. Feel the rocker on this boot as you climb uphill with ease.
Tuscan Hydrobloc waxed leather uppers also incorporate the famous and patented Vioz Flex-System, which allows the upper to break forward without compromising lateral stability. The 1012 Vioz Boot GT RR WL features a redesigned 3/4 RRS (Rubber Rand System), constructed using an improved rubber compound with improved elasticity. The new RRS also features a beveled edge to prevent catching and peeling and uses just the right amount of rubber so as not to make the boots unnecessarily heavy. Corrosion resistant hardware allows for easy lacing. The Gore-Tex membranes are laminated with Duratherm to provide the utmost waterproof protection and breathability while granting temprature performance equivalent to about 400 to 500g of Thinsulate, or about -5 degrees Fahrenheit.
