The Zamberlan Difference

Reinforced, fire-resistant uppers

9" tall uppers are made from premium Perwanger® split-grain leather and Nomex fabrics for fire-resistance, lightweight performance, and unmatched durability.

Side-stitched, fire-resistant outsoles

Vibram® Tsavo outsoles are made with a fire-resistant rubber compound specifically for wildland fire applications. Affixed with fire-resistant cement and side-stitched to eliminate the possibility of sole
delamination, these outsoles embody the extreme durability needed for WLF use.

Sure-footed tread for hazardous mountain terrain

The rugged lugs and aggressive braking traction of the Vibram® Tsavo outsoles are built for the most challenging mountain terrain.

The ideal blend of flex and support

A Flex 4mm polypropylene insole provides the optimal level of stiffness for heavy loads and mountain operation, while allowing enough boot flex for all-day comfort.

Renowned fit

Our Backpacking Fit is known for an excellent heel lock, comfortable over the foot wrap, and roomy toebox for maximum sensitivity and enduring comfort.

Breathability for hot environments

Hydrobloc® treated uppers are lined with polyester mesh to allow maximum breathability in hot conditions.

Resoling/rebuilding

This product is not generally resoleable due to the side-stitched sole application, but can be rebuilt by a specialized cobbler.

Can’t test them when it takes over a month to ship and they ship it to the wrong address and don’t offer any help or customer service. Will never order from this company again

They’re super comfortable. Will have to get used to see how they hold up. The laces broke on the third day of wearing them- use parachute chord or leather

Boots were great out of the box. Sizing was true. Whites are 10s ordered 9.5, fit great. Comfy and light. Hiking in them is great. For context on a wildland handcrew. 3 crew hikes in them and the only issue was I snapped a lace after 2 days. No fault on the boot though. Again, only crew hikes on the boots but steep, rocky terrain in central wyoming. No complaints.

Comfortable boots for wildland Firefighting. Short break in period. Water resistance is obviously not the best since there are seams pretty low on the boot, but with the proper treatment they keep your foot dry for some time. I had a lace break after only a couple of days but customer service was quick to replace them. I'm using Ironlaces on them now and keep the replacement ones as spares in case the Ironlaces break.

Great all around work boot

Boots are great very comfortable and light weight, but the laces do not last long the eyelets cut them, only 2 weeks before one broke

Boots are extraordinary comfortable making the transition from Whites. No break in, I’ve hiked in full gear about 10 miles on PT hikes so far and they show no signs of wear. The eyelets for the laces are pretty sharp and will cut through the factory laces within hours. Immediately upgraded to a set of rhino laces and even they are fraying at the eyelets at the ankle. All in all I’m happy with the redesigned boot. Breathability is good and they are fairly water resistant.

Boots are breatheable, dry quickly, and fit well. However, there is not enough heel support to handle rugged terrain. They might hold up for engine work on flat ground but these aren't great boots for field work in the mountains. There is a lack of support high enough up the ankles that a day of hiking on sidehills and boulders causes discomfort and rubbing on the heels. I rarely get blisters with other fire boots but wearing these start to get them on the top of the heels after just a few hours of field work.

So far it seems like a great boot. I wish they had 1/2 sizes for the size 13. I wear a 14 and these are a little tight on the toes. I will see if they break in seeing how I just received them yesterday. Looking forward to this fire season to see how they hold up.

So far so good, I am wearing around town a bit before I try a hike, look professional, can wear on duty, comfortable, and supportive. No slop with propper socks, can’t wait to hit the hills with them. Much lighter than my logger type boots.
